Dress Code

At Manatee Elementary School, we have a UNIFORM dress code policy. The policy was implemented by our School Advisory Council (SAC) several years ago to set guidelines for students which create an atmosphere that fosters learning without fashion distractions and safety hazards. Students who DO NOT adhere to the dress code policy will receive an area of concern on the "follows rules/routines/directions" section on the report card. Please contact the front office if you need assistance with obtaining uniform dress code items.

Tops - Solid collared/polo type shirts in any color. Logos on shirts may not be larger than 2 inches in diameter.

Manatee Logo t-shirts - Authorized Manatee School t-shirts include navy, teal and purple, P.E. t-shirts, pink anti-bully t-shirts, and million word readers t-shirts. These t-shirts can be purchased from the Manatee Elementary School PTA. Students are strongly encouraged to wear collared polo shirts for all school days, with the exception of P.E. days. However, an authorized Manatee School t-shirt is also an acceptable uniform alternative on non-P.E. days, and will not be considered a violation of this dress code.

Sweatshirts - Solid (free from decorations) dress code colors may be worn over the collared shirts.

Bottoms - Pants, capris, shorts, skirts, and skorts (solid khaki, solid navy blue, solid black)

Jumpers - (solid navy blue or solid khaki) and polo dresses (solid navy)

Jackets - In the classroom, solid jackets free from decorations may be worn over dress code approved tops and t-shirts.

Footwear - For safety reasons all footwear must be close-toed and close-heeled.

The following apparel is NOT permitted - tank tops, spaghetti straps, skin tight clothing, midriff baring, muscle shirts, short shorts, short skirts, short skorts, denim, jeans, jeggings or leggings, flip flops, open toed or platform shoes.

PUT YOUR CHILD'S NAME ON ALL ITEMS (LUNCH BOX, THERMOS, WATER BOTTLE, JACKETS, SWEATERS, ETC.) SO THEY CAN BE RETURNED IF LOST
